গত ২১ সেপ্টেম্বর বিকেল ৩ টা ৩০ মিনিটে পর্তুগালে লিসবন অবস্থিত বাংলাদেশ দূতাবাসের হলরুমে রাষ্ট্রদূত জনাব তারিক আহসান এবং দ্বিতীয় সচিব আব্দুল্লাহ আল রাজি এর সহিত পর্তুগাল বাংলা প্রেসক্লবের সদস্যদের একটি শুভেচ্ছা ও মতবিনিময় সভা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।
পর্তুগাল বাংলা প্রেস ক্লাবের সদস্যদের এবং রাষ্ট্রদূত মহোদয়ের পরিচয় পর্বের মাধ্যমে আলোচনা শুরু হয়। সূচনা বক্তব্যে রাষ্ট্রদূত জনাব তারিক আহসান তার বিগত দিনগুলোর বর্ণিল পেশাগত জীবনের বৃত্তান্ত তুলে ধরেন এবং পর্তুগালে অবস্থিত প্রবাসীদের কল্যাণে কাজ করার দৃঢ় প্রত্যয় ব্যক্ত করেন ।
উপস্থিত পর্তুগাল বাংলা প্রেস ক্লাবের সদস্য বৃন্দ পর্তুগালে বাংলাদেশ কমিউনিটি এবং বাংলাদেশের মানুষের কল্যাণে তাদের ইতিপূর্বের কর্মকাণ্ড রাষ্ট্রদূতের কাছে উপস্থাপন করেন। তারা বলেন পর্তুগাল বাংলা প্রেস ক্লাব সৃষ্টি হয়েছে সকলের সমন্বয়ে পর্তুগালে একটি সুষ্ঠু সুন্দর বাংলাদেশ কমিউনিটি গড়ে তোলার জন্য সহায়ক ভূমিকা পালন করা।
এছাড়া তারা আশা প্রকাশ করেন পর্তুগাল বাংলা প্রেস ক্লাব পর্তুগালে প্রবাসী বাংলাদেশিদর বিভিন্ন সুযোগ-সুবিধা যেমন এখানে বসবাসরত শিশুদের বাংলা সাহিত্য ও সংস্কৃতি চর্চার জন্য বাংলা স্কুল প্রতিষ্ঠা করা, কমিউনিটি ক্লাব গঠনসহ মানবিক সহযোগীতা মূলক কর্মকান্ড করার বিষয়ে সর্বাত্মক ভূমিকা পালন করবে । বক্তারা এ বিষয়ে বাংলাদেশ দূতাবাসের সর্বাত্মক সহযোগিতা কামনা করেন।
